Sim Ann

Sim Ann (Chinese: 沈颖) is the Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the
Ministry of National Development. She is a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.

Education and early career
Sim Ann was educated at Hwa Chong Junior College from 1992 to 1993. In 1997, she obtained a B.A (Honours) from Oxford University. She was awarded an M.A from Stanford University in 2009. Sim Ann has also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Translation and Interpretation from the Nanyang Technological University. Sim Ann
started her career in 1998 as an Assistant Director for Finance Policy and Planning at the Ministry of Health. From 2000 to 2003, she worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs as an Assistant Director for Implementation Planning, before moving to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she was Deputy Director for Trade until 2006.
Between 2007 and 2009, she was the Regional Director (East China) for IE Singapore and in 2009, she became the Director for the National Population Secretariat. She left the Civil Service in 2011.

Political career

Sim Ann first stepped into the political arena when she contested in the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC during the 2011 General Elections. She is currently the MP for the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC as one of the four-member People's Action Party (PAP) team led by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. The other PAP members are Christopher de Souza and Edward Chia.



Prof Jon Hyett

Jon Hyett is the Head of the Department of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney and the Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Western Sydney University.

Jon is a member of the RANZCOG committee monitoring quality assurance in first trimester screening and a trustee of the Fetal Medicine Foundation (UK) as well as of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Jon’s primary research interests include predictive modelling and preventative interventions for adverse obstetric outcomes. Many of these models are based on first trimester screening. Others are being developed for managing term pregnancies. He is also interested in management of multiple pregnancies.

Prof Leung Tak Yeung

Professor Tak Yeung LEUNG is Assistant Dean (Mainland Affairs) of Faculty of Medicine (CU Medicine), the Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology CUHK, as well as the Head of Fetal Medicine Team.


Professor Leung’s research interests and professional expertise are in prenatal screening, fetal therapy, diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, twin pregnancy, preterm delivery, fetal growth restriction, and emergency obstetrics. He has published more than 370 papers in international peer reviewed journals, and his current H-index is 51.


He also runs multiple training courses on fetal ultrasound, genetic diagnosis and obstetric emergency. In particular, he collaborates with Baylor College of Medicine of USA in running a Medical Genetics master course in Asia. Professor Leung was appointed as the "Changjiang Scholar" by the Ministry of Education of China. Meanwhile, Prof Leung leads CUOG with FPAHK to launch the Jockey Club Genetic Carrier Screening Programme for High Risk Couples in 2023.



Dr Muniswaran Ganeshan

Dr Muniswaran Ganeshan, is the unit lead and Maternal Fetal Medicine Consultant at the Women and Children’s Hospital KL. 


He is a fellow of the RCOG and was  awarded the gold medal for the Masters in O&G from University Malaya in 2011. Having completed his subspecialty training in maternal medicine in UK, he initiated and successfully leads the Maternal Medicine Clinic, dedicated to the management of mothers with complex medical diseases in pregnancy.


He is also the current president of the Malaysia Obstetric Medicine Society and the President Elect of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society (OGSM) of Malaysia. He has authored numerous national guidelines in Malaysia, and was also  a member of the Confidential Enquiries of Maternal Deaths in Malaysia and COVID-19 in pregnancy.


He remains dedicated  to his passion which is to establish Obstetric Medicine services in Malaysia and to improve the standards and  quality of care for women with medical complications in pregnancy.


Prof Nazimah Idris

Professor Dr Nazimah Idris is a Clinical Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the International Medical University Malaysia and the Medical Director of IMU Healthcare. Besides the medical degrees she holds a Master of Medical Education from the University of Dundee and a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Ethics and Law from the University of Manchester. She is a member of IMU Healthcare Senior Management Team, a member of the Examination for Professional Registration Committee and the Specialty Education Subcommittee of the Malaysian Medical Council, an EXCO member for MERCY Malaysia, and the current President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia. She received clinical training in Malaysia and Australia and has over 20 years’ experience in managing high risk pregnancies and other women’s health issues including women’s health in disaster-affected areas. Her fields of interest include adolescent health, diabetes in pregnancy, fetal growth disorders and medical humanities.

Dr Selva Supermaniam

Dr. Selva is a Consultant OBGYN and  Reproductive Medicine subspecialist at the Mahkota Medical Centre.  He is a Fellow of the RCOG. He has a Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Western Sydney. 

He is the Past President of the OGSM and APAGE  and board member of APGET. 

He is a dedicated laparoscopic surgeon and has performed about 7000 cases so far. He also runs a Fellowship in MIS. So far he has trained  10 gynaecologists. 

He published his first book entitled “Laparoscopic Surgery in Gynaecology and Common Diseases in Women” and has numerous publications in international journals. He runs a blog and a podcast entitled “ Surviving Private Practice in Malaysia”.

He runs the first “Ultrasound based HIFU Centre” in Malaysia.

A/Prof Tuangsit Wataganara

Dr Wataganara is an Associate Professor and Chief of Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.  He is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.  His special research interest includes prenatal screening, diagnosis, and therapy, as well as preeclampsia prediction and prevention, with more than 100 publications in peer review journals.  He has received an Outstanding Young Investigator Award from CNAPS III Meeting (USA, 2003), and Shan S. Ratnam Young Gynaecologist Award from 20th AOCOG Meeting (Japan 2007).  He is the President of Medical Ultrasonic Society of Thailand (2020-2023) and Co-Opted Councillor of Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (AFSUMB).  He is a deputy secretary-general of World Association of Perinatal Medicine (WAPM), an executive director of Ian Donald Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound, an associate fellow of International Association of Perinatal Medicine (IAPM), and an executive board member of National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).  He is serving as editorial board member (fetal medicine) for BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth and executive editor of Donald School Journal of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Prof Unnop Jaisamrarn

Prof. Unnop Jaisamrarn is now working as the Chief of WHO Collaborating Centre for Research in Human Reproduction in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. In his present appointment, he is also Senior Executive Advisor for International Affairs of Faculty of Medicine.


Currently, he serves on the board of various professional societies. Since 2022 he is the President of the Thai Menopause Society. He was also the President of the Thai Osteoporosis Foundation during 2020-2021. He has been working for The Royal Thai College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists since 1997. He was the Secretary General of the College during 2019-2021. Internationally, his present appointment includes the Chairman of the Sexual & Reproductive Health Committee of the Asia & Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG), Council Member of the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation (APMF) and the Asian Federation of Osteoporosis Societies (AFOS), Steering Committee Member of the Council of Affiliated Menopause Society under the International Menopause Society.


Prof. Unnop Jaisamrarn has been activity working for World Health Organization for almost 30 years. His current roles include a Member of South-East Asia Regional Technical Advisory Group and a Committee Member of Research Project Review Panel, Department of Reproductive Health and Research, WHO.


He has been involved in clinical trials and authored many international publications on family planning and reproductive health, hormonal replacement therapy, transgender health, osteoporosis and HPV vaccine. He has given a number of lectures and conducted many training programs in the field of family planning and reproductive health, menopause and osteoporosis, both locally and internationally.

Prof. Unnop Jaisamrarn received his medical doctor’s degree (1st class honors) from Chulalongkorn University in 1986 and completed his postgraduate training with awards in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1992. He received Certificate in Epidemiology from University of California at Los Angeles and University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA in 1994. He also was honored with the Family Planning Scholarship, international award. In 1995-1996, he underwent Postgraduate Medical Training in Reproductive Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and received MHS (Reproductive Health) from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.

Dr Ranee Thakar

Ranee Thakar MD FRCOG became President of the RCOG on 9 December 2022. Ranee is a Consultant Obstetrician and Urogynaecologist at Croydon University Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer, St George’s University of London. She is an experienced leader with a clear understanding of the operational, clinical and training demands facing the specialty today.


Ranee has a long-standing commitment to the RCOG, having fulfilled a number of important roles including Secretary of the British Society of Urogynaecology, honorary director of conferences, and Council representative for South Asia. Most recently, Ranee was Senior Vice President for Global Health, from 2019-2022. 


Ranee has an impressive academic profile with over 200 publications and has made a significant contribution to improving perineal trauma outcomes by training obstetricians and midwives to provide safer maternity care for women globally. She is past President of the International Urogynecological Association and led the national obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASI) Care Bundle Project.

Professor Tim Draycott is a Consultant Obstetrician at Southmead Hospital. 

Professor Draycott jointly leads the PROMPT course and a leading maternity safety research centre.

His work has been recognised with the award of Hospital Doctor of the Year, NHS Hero status and he was awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Excellence in Education by HRH the Queen.

Prof Chih-Feng Yan

Dr. Chih-Feng Yen, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and the National Tsing Hua University School of Medicine in Taiwan. With an M.D. from Taipei Medical University and a Ph.D. from Chang Gung University's Graduate Institute of Clinical Medical Sciences, he has also been a visiting assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine. 


Dr. Yen has extensive experience performing gynaecologic laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations for thousands of patients. His research primarily focuses on adenomyosis, endometriosis, and the molecular and cellular biology of the endometrium. He serves as the Secretary-General of APAGE, on the Executive Board of Supervision of Taiwan Endometriosis Society, and as an Ambassador of ASEA and WES. Dr. Yen contributes to the editorial boards of JMIG and GMIT and serves as a reviewer for several reputable journals in the field.

Dr Andy Tan Wei Keat is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in Singapore. His sub-specialty interest is in Endometriosis, Pelvic Pain, robotic and Minimal Access Surgeries. He spent a year of clinical fellowship programme at Rigshospitalet Copenhagen, Denmark in 2019, where he trained alongside several renowned surgeons in one of the largest endometriosis referral centres in Europe. He is a council member of OGSS and currently practise in Gleneagles Hospital Singapore.

Prof Arijit Biswas

Prof Biswas obtained his basic MBBS degree from Calcutta University, India where he was awarded the Gold Medal in aggregate as well as in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Pathology. He started his postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), India in 1981 and continued further advanced specialist training in UK from 1987. He obtained his MD in 1986 and MRCOG (UK) in 1989. He obtained the FAMS in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal College in UK (FRCOG) in 2001. He joined National University of Singapore as a Lecturer & Consultant in 1991. He was awarded his second MD from National University of Singapore in 2002. He has published more than 200 peer reviewed articles in indexed journals and has written over 20 book chapters.

His current practice at the NUH is mainly focused on High Risk Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine, heading the Fetal Care Centre in the hospital. His special interests are in the areas of prenatal diagnosis, antenatal ultrasound and Fetal therapy. He is the Clinical Director of the department. Prof Biswas is a member and ex-Chairman of O&G Residency Advisory Committee (RAC), Ministry of Health, Singapore (which is in charge of O&G Postgraduate training in Singapore) and a member of the Specialist Accreditation Board, Singapore. He is a Past President of the College of O&G, Singapore (COGS). In 2017, Prof Biswas was awarded the prestigious National Outstanding Clinician Award by Singapore Govt.


Dr Arundhati Gosavi

Dr Arundhati obtained her undergraduate and postgraduate degree from India and her membership of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG, UK) in 2009. She has been working at NUH since 2010 and is an accredited specialist in Singapore. She pursued a fellowship in Fetal medicine at Birmingham Woman's Hospital NHS trust, UK, in 2019 and completed RCOG ATSM (Advance training in subspeciality). She currently works as a Senior Consultant in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at NUH. She works at the Fetal Care Centre at NUH, to facilitate Prenatal diagnosis, Fetal Medicine and Therapy. Her main area of interest is in high-risk obstetrics, fetal anomalies, Prenatal genetics, higher-order pregnancies and fetal diagnostic procedures.

Dr Chang Tou Choong

Dr. T.C. Chang is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based at Thomson Medical Centre. From 1998 to 2020, he was the Head of the Fetal Assessment Unit, Centre for Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetric Ultrasound, at Thomson Medical Centre. He is presently the Head and Director, Fetal Assessment Centre, Singapore Women’s Medical Group. His interests are  in first trimester anatomy scanning, NIPT in challenging clinical scenarios, first trimester screening for pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction, ultrasound assessment of the at-risk fetus and management of high-risk pregnancies.


Dr Celene Hui

Dr Celene Hui is an accredited OBGYN specialist from the Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) unit, Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KKH. She holds the post of clinical assistant professor for Duke-NUS medical school and is a clinical lecturer for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
She serves on the council of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) and the council of the Society for Minimally Invasive Surgery, Singapore (SGMIS). She is a Minimally Invasive Gynaecologic Surgery committee member for the Asia & Oceania Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (AOFOG).
Her interests include minimally invasive treatment options for benign gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis and ovarian cysts, prevention of intrauterine adhesions and vNOTES (vaginal natural orifice endoscopic surgery).

A/Prof Chan Shiao Yng

A/Prof Chan Shiao-yng graduated from the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of the RCOG (UK). She is now Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine National University of Singapore, Senior Consultant Obstetrician at the National University Hospital (Singapore), and Deputy Executive Director of the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (A*STAR).

She runs the High Risk Antenatal Clinic at NUH and as a Clinician Scientist, she has established a research program focusing on placental function, metabolic disorders in pregnancy, nutritional interventions and impact on maternal and child outcomes.

She has leading roles in Singapore’s birth cohorts (GUSTO, S-PRESTO) and conducts clinical trials in preconception and pregnancy (e.g. TABLET, NiPPeR).

A/Prof Citra Mattar

Associate Professor Citra Mattar specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and runs a translational research programme in gene and stem cell therapy. She is the NUHS O&G Residency Programme Director and Assistant Director of the National University Centre for Women and Children (NUWoC).



A/Prof Devendra Kanagalingam

Dr Devendra is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Singapore General Hospital and Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Medical Schools. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992. After stints in orthopaedic surgery, neonatology, colorectal surgery, general surgery and emergency medicine, he pursued specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology.

As part of his postgraduate training, he spent 2 years working in the United Kingdom, including one year at the St George’s Hospital Medical School in London where he was Senior Registrar and Honorary Clinical Lecturer. He has a clinical interest in the management of high-risk pregnancies and intrapartum care and is presently lead clinician for the delivery suite at the Singapore General Hospital.


Dr Eugene Huang

Dr Eugene Huang is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist. He completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore and subsequently pursued subspecialty training in Urogynaecology. He was conferred the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award and successfully completed his fellowship in Urogynaecology and Advanced Laparoscopy in Kameda Medical Center, Japan. He is a council member of the College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Singapore, and is affiliated with several professional organisations, including the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), International Continence Society (ICS) and Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS). He is well versed with the management of general obstetrics and gynaecological conditions, as well as urogynaecological conditions such as female urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr Felicia Chin

Dr Felicia Chin is a Consultant with the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Singapore. 

Dr Chin has been an accredited specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2016, and underwent subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology. She was awarded the Singhealth Health Manpower Development Plan Award in 2019 and completed her fellowship in Fertility Sparing Management in Gynaecological Cancers at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. In 2020, Dr Chin spearheaded the Gynae Oncofertility Service in KKH, a first-in-Singapore service, which provides multidisciplinary, holistic care for young women with cancer, with a focus on fertility preservation.

Prof George SH Yeo

Prof George SH Yeo is a domain expert in obstetric ultrasound, birth defect and prenatal diagnosis. He was the past Chief of Obstetrics, Director of the Antenatal  Diagnostic  Centre (2000- 2019) and  Emeritus Consultant, Department  of Maternal Fetal Medicine at KK Women’s & Children’s  Hospital, Singapore (KKH).


He is now practicing in Royal Sq @ Novena101, Irrawardy Road, #15- 05/06, Singapore 329565. At the same time, he is spending time in KKH doing education, research and holding the practice standards of prenatal ultrasound, Birth Defect Screening, prenatal diagnosis and Fetal Surgery. He is an Emeritus Consultant to Singhealth.



Adjunct Asst Prof Huang Zhongwei

Adjunct Assistant Professor Huang Zhongwei is Deputy Director of NUS Bia-Echo Asia Centre for
Reproductive Longevity & Equality, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of
Singapore. He concurrently serves as a Consultant at the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, National University Hospital, Singapore.
Adjunct Assistant Prof Huang’s subspecialties include reproductive endocrinology & infertility and
sexual medicine, and he is accredited by the Ministry of Health (Singapore) as an assisted
reproductive techniques (ART) specialist. Dr Huang completed his PhD on ovarian biology in 2011 at
the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, and continues to contribute to the field as a clinician-
scientist. His current research focuses on discovering innovative solutions through basic and
translational research to change women’s life narrative of reproductive inevitability to reproductive
longevity. Dr Huang’s research has been published in renowned journals such as Cell Research,
Nature Communications, Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, Molecular Human Reproduction,
Reproductive Sciences and Clinical Endocrinology.

Dr Jason Lim Shau Khng

Dr Jason Lim is a senior consultant and clinical assistant professor obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Singapore General Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and went on to obtain his postgraduate qualification and fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology with the Royal College of O&G United Kingdom. He is an adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine NUS and Duke-NUS Medical School.

As a urogynaecologist, he completed his sub specialty fellowship training in female pelvic floor reconstructive surgery and childbirth pelvic floor trauma and rehabilitation in the United Kingdom (UCLH, Whittington, John Radcliffe Oxford).

Being the head of the Urogynaecology Service in the Department, he takes care of women with all types of pelvic floor dysfunction such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and post- childbirth rehabilitation. Dr Jason Lim is currently the President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore and the immediate past Head of Urogynaecology Section under the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Singapore. His other area of interest is in healthcare management and economics for which he obtained a Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership at Singapore Management University under SingHealth’s Talent Development
Scholarship. He currently chairs the Value-Based Care in Hysterectomy Workgroup under Ministry of Health, Singapore.

Dr Joella Ang

Dr Joella Ang is a consultant from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Singapore General Hospital. She graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2012 and embarked in training with the SingHealth Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency Programme.


In 2020, Dr Ang was accredited as a specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, with subspecialty training in the treatment of gynaecological cancer. She believes in education and mentoring of her juniors and is involved in various education projects. She strives for clinical and academic excellence in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to provide the best care to her patients. She is currently undergoing her fellowship in pelvic oncology in Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Kazila Bhutia


Dr Kazila is a Consultant Sub-specialist Urogynaecologist and pelvic floor reconstructive surgeon practising in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), Singapore. She completed her six years of basic and advanced O&G specialist training in KKH. Subsequently, she underwent three years of subspecialty training in urogynaecology at KKH and the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. Apart from urogynaecology problems, such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence, Dr Kazila has special interests in the use of minimally invasive surgery in pelvic reconstructive surgery and the management of urogenital fistulas and pelvic mesh-related problems. She offers minimally invasive surgery such as advanced laparoscopic pelvic floor reconstruction including sacrocolpopexy to her patients. She is among the few VNOTE (Vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopy) experts in the country and offers VNOTE surgery for both benign and urogynaecological procedures. 

Apart from her clinical appointment, Dr Kazila also serves as an Assistant Professor in both Duke-NUS and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and is a lead investigator in multiple research projects on the management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Dr Kazila is affiliated with a number of professional associations including International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA), International Incontinence Society (ICS) and Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS).

Dr Liu Shuling

Dr Liu Shuling is the Lead Physician of the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) Clinic at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The clinic was set up in 2017 and has managed more than 300 couples with RPL. It now sees approximately 500 clinic consults a year with a steadily growing number of referrals. She is also the Director of KKIVF center and a Senior Consultant with the Department of Reproductive Medicine. Shuling remains actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate education and her research interests include recurrent pregnancy loss and subfertility.


Dr Ida Ismail-Pratt

Dr. Ida is currently an obgyn specialist and Medical Director of The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Centre, Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre.

She is a BSCCP (British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology) trained colposcopist and the vice president of SCCPS (Singapore Colposcopy &Cervical Pathology Singapore).


She was until recently a consultant and lead colposcopist, and led the Gynaecology Cancer Screening and Prevention services at National University Hospital, Singapore. Dr Ida championed the introduction of HPV DNA testing as an alternative to cervical cancer screening in 2014. She was elected as co-chairman for the Cervical Screen Singapore (CSS) Implementation Committee and was responsible for recommending and implementing HPV Primary Screening in Singapore in May 2019. She currently leading the CSS Clinical Guideline Review Group in updating cervical cancer screening practice in Singapore.


Dr. Ida is also active internationally in the education and training of doctors mainly in the LMIC. She co-led and co-developed the International Gynaecology Cancer Society (IGCS) preinvasive Disease certificate Program which was created especially to aid in training in colposcopy and treatment of preinvasive cervical disease for doctors in LMIC.

Dr Tan Kai Lit

Dr Tan Kai Lit is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with KL Tan Clinic & Surgery for Women. He is also the Head of the Fetal Assessment and Ultrasound Department at Thomson Medical Centre.

Prior to joining Thomson Medical Centre, he has served at various hospitals comprising Whittington Hospital (London), National University Hospital Singapore and KK Women's and Children's Hospital where he was a Consultant and Adjunct Assistant Professor. He held teaching positions in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) by Singhealth, he pursued further training in Fetal Medicine, in particular fetoscopy/fetal intervention in Hospital Clinic Barcelona, Spain. There, he honed his skills in fetal echocardiography, neurosonography, prenatal diagnosis, fetal surgical pathologies, multiple pregnancies and growth restriction.

Dr Tan was involved in obstetric research projects in obstetrics and gynaecology. Awarded the National Medical Research Council award, he looked into the correlation of reduction in growth velocity with perinatal outcomes.


Dr Tony Tan

Dr Tony Tan obtained his MBBS in National University of Singapore in 1993 and his specialist qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2000. He was further trained in fetal medicine including twin pregnancies at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, London for a year till June 2003. He was a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the department of Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital till October 2006 and then Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Clinical Director, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Raffles Hospital from November 2006 to June 2019.  He has set up his own clinic "Tony Tan Women and Fetal Clinic" at Mount Alvernia Hospital from 1st July 2019.  He has also been appointed as the Medical Director, Alvernia Obstetric Screening Centre from the same date.

He specialises in the management of high-risk pregnancies. He has special interests in twin (both monochorionic and dichorionic) pregnancies, miscarriages, screening and diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, prevention and management of preterm labour, management of pre-eclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction and strategies to prevent stillbirth.

He had published in academic journals and is regularly invited to give academic lectures to fellow obstetricians and gynaecologists at local, regional and international medical conferences regularly.

He was President of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Singapore in 2013-2014 and Chairman, Maternal Fetal Medicine Committee of the Asia-Oceanic Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2013-2017.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in UK and Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is also an examiner for the MRCOG examinations and the Exit examinations for local OG trainees.
He is also a member of the SingHealth Centralised Institutional Review Board which is the central ethics review board to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in biomedical and behavioural research activities being conducted under the SingHealth institution. 

Dr Tan has been appointed as a member representing the College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Faculty of Medical Experts Committee, Academy of Medicine since 2021, and is also a member of the Medical Experts Committee (MEC) for Policies, Training and Education.  He has provided expert medical opinions for local obstetric medicolegal disputes.

A/Prof Mahesh Choolani

A/Prof Mahesh Choolani is the Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the National University of Singapore. He is also the Group Chief of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the National University Health System.

Prof Choolani has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, including top journals such as Nature, Blood, and The Lancet. His principle areas of research are Maternal-Fetal Medicine, non-invasive prenatal diagnosis, and fetal therapy. In 2010, he delivered the prestigious Benjamin Henry Sheares Memorial Lecture in Singapore.

Prof Choolani is the President-Elect of the College of Clinician Scientists, and Vice-President of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Singapore. He is also the President-Elect of the International Society of Prenatal Diagnosis, and Past President of the International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society.

Dr Lim Min Yu

Dr Lim Min Yu is a consultant obstetrician, gynaecologist and fertility specialist in Gleneagles Hospital. He is the immediate past President of the OGSS, and is chair of the Singapore International Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).


Dr Lim underwent specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Scotland, and returned to Singapore in 2010 to join the Department of O&G in NUH. He has been in private practice since 2017.


Apart from his clinical interests in reproductive medicine and laparoscopic surgery, his research interests lie in methods to select the best embryo to improve outcomes in assisted reproduction. He is a co-investigator in the local trial of preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy.

Dr Pamela Partana

Dr Pamela Partana is an Associate Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Singapore General Hospital. She graduated with Distinction from the King’s College London School of Medicine in 2013 and was nominated to represent King’s at the prestigious University of London Gold Medal Viva competition. She is currently pursuing her sub-specialty training in maternal foetal medicine and has a keen interest in the management of high-risk pregnancies.


Dr Pearl Tong

Dr Pearl Tong is a gynaecologic oncologist consultant in practice since her return in 2018 after a 2-year fellowship program in Australia. She manages general gynaecology and gynaecologic-oncology cases, and does both open and minimally invasive surgery. A firm believer in giving patients the best quality of life, she pushes frontiers and consistently keeps up to date to allow patients to be at the forefront of treatment. She also values working in a tertiary institution with the privilege of collaboration with other specialties and the opportunity to contribute to medical education.

Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei

Dr Lim is the Medical Director of Timothy Lim Clinic for Women & Cancer Surgery at Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore.

He was the former Head of Gynecological Oncology in KKH from 2014 to 2019 before going into private practice. He has a strong interest in complex pelvic surgery as well as minimally invasive gynaecological oncology   surgery. He also had a strong interest in research and has published and co-authored more than 40 peer review papers.


He is the current President of the Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore since 2019. He was also the past President of the O&G Society of Singapore from 2019 to 2021 and was the local organising committee chairperson of the hugely successful RCOG World Congress that was held in Singapore in 2018.


Dr Poh Yih Jia

Dr Poh Yih Jia is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Dr Poh co-leads the Rheumatology Obstetrics Clinic (ROC) which is a one-stop integrated combined rheumatology and obstetrics clinic to provide specialised care to pregnant women with autoimmune diseases.

Dr Poh’s research interest is in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. Dr Poh was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship to further sub-specialise in the management of pregnancy and flares in patients with autoimmune diseases at the Louise Coote Lupus Unit, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.

Dr Poh is also actively involved in education for undergraduate and postgraduates and was awarded the RISE outstanding faculty award. She is Core Faculty for the Senior Residency Programme in Rheumatology, Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School.

Dr Poo Zi Xi

Dr Poo graduated from Imperial College London in 2013, having obtained both a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and an intercalated Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Medical Sciences with Reproductive and Developmental Sciences. She joined the SingHealth Obstetrics & Gynaecology Residency Programme in 2015, and was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) UK in 2019. She also attained her Master of Medicine (MMed) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2020. She was subsequently accredited as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2022, and has also been appointed as Clinical Instructor with SingHealth Duke-NUS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Academic Clinical Programme (OBGYN ACP) in 2022. She believes in the holistic care of women with complex and high risk pregnancies and is part of the high risk obstetrics MFM team in KKH.

A/Prof Roy Ng

Associate Professor Dr Roy Ng (MBBS, LRCP Edin, LRCS Edin, LRCPS Glasg, FRCOG, M Obstet & Gynaec L’pool, FAMS) is a Senior Consultant & Head, Division of Urogynaecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, National University Hospital, Singapore & National University Singapore. 

He was the Secretary of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) [2016-19]; local chair, IUGA Regional Symposium, Singapore, April, 2012 and chair, LOC 46th IUGA annual meeting, Singapore, 9-12 December 2021. He was the Chair, Program Committee of the annual meeting in 2017, Vancouver & 2018, Vienna and co-chair in 2019, Nashville, USA (Joint AUGS-IUGA meeting); IUGA PROTECT (Prevention and Repair Of perineal Trauma and Episiotomy through Comprehensive Training) certified [2016].  

He has been on the faculty of IUGA’s eXchange Programs and Regional Symposia in Asia; and invited to local, regional and international Urogynaecological and Obstetrical & Gynaecological conferences in the past 2 decades.


Dr Shephali Tagore

Dr Shephali joined the Department of OBGYN in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore, in 2004 and completed Specialty Training in 2008. Her subspecialty training was in Management of High Risk Pregnancies and Critical Care in Dukes University Hospital, US in 2009.


Her clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As the Head of MF and Peripartum, she implemented risk reduction strategies towards safer clinical care. Her special interests are Cervical incompetence (Cervical cerclage), Placenta accreta, Fetal heart rate monitoring, Vaccination in pregnancy and Induction of labour.  She is actively involved in teaching, training and research activities. Additionally, as a Director of International Medical Programme, she organizes training in Obstetrics Emergencies in developing countries in South East Asia.  She leads teams to teach simple, safe obstetric practices improving   perinatal outcomes and at the same time streamlining their own systems and processes.

Dr May Mok

Dr May Mok is a senior consultant anaesthetist accredited for various private institutions in Singapore. She worked in Singapore General Hospital from 2014-2023 and was Head of the Obstetric Anaesthetic Service in SGH and Program Director of SingHealth Anaesthesiology Residency Program. She has a strong interest in obstetric anaesthesia, patient safety, simulation and education.


She set up the Anaesthetic High Risk Obstetric Clinic in SGH in 2015 aiming to improve multi-disciplinary workflow for high risk obstetric patients, looking after them as part of the Peri-natal Inter-Professional Service in SGH.



Dr Ng Ying Woo

Dr Ng is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology (MRCOG-UK). He graduated from the medical faculty, National University of Singapore (MMed) and holds a Diploma in advance laparoscopy (Dip. Eur Gyn Endoscopy) from the renowned CHU Estaing laparoscopic centre, France. Dr Ng is the honorary secretary of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Singapore (OGSS) and also the co-chair of the current 11st SICOG meeting.

He believes in holistic care for his patients and has vast experiences in performing surgeries and deliveries. Alongside his compassionate patient-centred care approach, Dr Ng is passionate about offering the best surgical solutions for management of gynaecological conditions. He was awarded a Fellowship in Advanced laparoscopic skills under the tutelage of Prof. Revaz Botchorichvili in 2011 by National University Hospital. As an Assistant Professor (Clinician), he also developed laparoscopy training modules and conducted endometriosis laparoscopic workshops for residency training in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

At the forefront of surgery for management of sub-fertility and gynaecological conditions, Dr Ng is one of the pioneers in Singapore to develop the application of single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) in gynaecology since 2009. He has since then performed many SILS surgeries successfully for gynaecological conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis and fertility regulation for family planning. In addition, Dr Ng also performed Da Vinci robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery and mini-laparoscopy for his patients.

He is committed to providing obstetric care for all expectant mothers and advocates for natural delivery. He is also an activist in promoting women’s health. As such, he enjoys organising public outreach programs to empower women in making informed decisions about their healthcare.

Dr Ng is dedicated to offering the best obstetrics and gynaecological care for his patients. As a father, he understands the challenges of parents and takes pride in partnering patients in their healthcare journey.  


Dr Serene Thain

Dr Serene Thain is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons MRCS (Edinburgh) in 2013 as well as her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians MRCP (UK) and Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in 2014. In November 2015, she was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) and awarded the MRCOG Prize Medal for emerging as the overall highest scoring candidate in the examination, as well as the 4th Asia-Oceania Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Gold Medal conferred by NUS for the M.Med (O&G) examinations. 

She went on to pursue subspecialty training in the field of Obstetric Medicine under the mentorship of Professor Catherine Nelson-Piercy at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She currently leads the one-STop Obstetric high RisK (STORK) Centre within KKH and runs various high risk obstetric and medical services that aim to provide an integrated and seamless journey for women with high risk pregnancies.

Dr Sarah Li

Dr Sarah Li is a Consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the National University Hospital. She was admitted to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG, United Kingdom) and the Master of Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Singapore) in 2018. She was also awarded the
prestigious Young Gynaecologist Award by the Asian Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2018.

Dr Li is an accredited specialist in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology practice in Singapore. She has a special interest in Maternal Fetal medicine and is committed to the care of women in labour and those with high risk pregnancies. Her research endeavours involve perinatal epidemiology and also the use of Artificial Intelligence to
improve antenatal care and the care of women in labour. Additionally, she holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Monash University after being awarded a research training fellowship from the National Medical Research Council in Singapore in 2016.

Dr Li is also a dedicated member of the NUH Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency Program core faculty, committed to nurturing her younger colleagues to be competent O&G specialists of the future.

Dr Lim Whui Whui

Dr Lim Whui Whui is a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Singapore General Hospital. Dr Lim graduated from King’s College, London in 2011 with Distinction in Clinical Practice, Distinction in Clinical Science as well as a Distinction in Medical Sciences. In 2018, Dr Lim completed her Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the same year. In 2020, she gained accreditation as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 

Dr Lim sees general obstetrics and gynaecology patients and her sub-specialties are in Reproductive Medicine as well as Minimally Invasive Surgery. She is interested in both female and male subfertility, and has a particular passion for endometriosis and understands the impact this condition can have on patients.

Dr Wang Junjie

Dr Wang Junjie is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has had more than a decade of experience managing obstetric and gynaecological conditions and is a board accredited gynaecological oncologist.

Dr Wang holds teaching appointments in all 3 medical schools in Singapore. He is a clinical Assistant Professor for Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Assistant Professor for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Clinical lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS). He is also a Physician Faculty for the SingHealth Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency, where he mentors and trains the residents .
